Felturner Hütte/Rifugio Feltuner The Feltuner Hütte on the Rittner Horn is a much-loved destination for countless families, hill-walkers and mountain bikers, all of whom exult in the homemade, traditional food that is served. The view from the Rittner Horn is one of the best-known views of the Alps, from the glaciers of the Ortles and the Ötztal Alps in the west to the legendary Dolomites in the east, the Stubai and Zillertal Alps to the north and to the Presanella and Adamello to the south, where the Brenta Dolomites begin.

The European Academy of Bozen/Bolzano (EURAC) lies in the heart of the Dolomites. Created in 1992 as an independent research center, EURAC is home to researchers from all over Europe who work together on a wide range of interdisciplinary projects. Experts in law and natural sciences, linguists and geneticists collaborate with public and private agencies towards the resolution of some central issues of our day. Together they contribute to create a future-oriented Europe.

Decription

Schloss Prösels/Castel Presule Prösels Castle was built around 1200 by the Lords of Völs, titled feudatories of the Bishops of Brixen. In the early 16th century the governor of Tyrol, Leonhard von Völs expanded the castle in the style of Renaissance. The castle as we know it today is almost entirely due to Leonhard’s influence. In 1981 the castle was acquired by the Prösels Castle Curatorship. It was opened to the public and can be visited on guided tours.

Since 1999, around 25.000 bottles have been produced every year. Their grapes come from Trifall, Panigl and Plantaditsch. Winegrower and cellar master Oskar Andergassen is fervently devoted to uniting the traditional with the modern. His respect for the land, “green” harvesting methods, delicacy in wine pressing, fermentation and maturation in wooden barrels all guarantee a wine of the highest quality imbued with the true taste of the land.
