Jazz Music Promotion

Jazz Music Promotion Südtirol Alto Adige (JMP) is a cultural reality that operates according to the non-profit-principle. The love of music, and along with it the courage to get something moving on the cultural scene, was what drove us years ago to found JMP by Nicola Ciardi and a some friends.
For twenty years JMP has been trying to promote, with great passion, modern, ethnic and contemporary music in South Tyrol.

Among the different forms of music, Jazz has been of utmost interest mainly when it comes to organizing the annual “Südtirol Jazz Festival Alto Adige” with well-known and unknown artist from all over the world. With pleasure, after all these years, we look back on our activity of promoting musicians, who, when they first performed in South Tyrol were quite unknown and today enjoy popularity.

This specific aim of calling on young artists, giving them the chance to perform in our homeplace and after a while hearing them play again in South Tyrol is one of the key elements in our effort to create an image of our country.

Thanks public institutions JMP is still going strong. Besides the financial support of these public administrations, it’s the cooperation of many private persons and organizations that has helped us to realize our goals. Last but not least we would like to thank all those admirers of our music who, by coming to our concerts, give us the feeling and honour of being an important part of the cultural activity in South Tyrol.
