Christmas JazzJam Concert at the University
The Faculty of Design and Art of the Free University of Bozen- Bolzano and the Südtirol Jazzfestival Alto Adige are strengthening their ties: for the forthcoming 30th anniversary of the Jazzfestival, a group of students under Professor Antonino Benincasa is working on designs for a new image. These designs will be exhibited on Wednesday, 21 December with a pre-Christmas JazzJam concert at the University. The event begins at 5.30 p.m. and is open to the public. The Jazz Design 2011 was designed by one of the students from the Faculty of Design and Art. Now, under Professor Antonino Benincasa, a number of students are working on proposals for the 30th anniversary festival, which will be entertaining South Tyrol from 29 June to 8 July 2011 with exotic, colourful and in some cases unusual tones. Jazz president Klaus Widmann is looking forward to the presentations by Professor Benincasa and his students: so, from 5.30 p.m. on 21 December, a jazzy pre-Christmas event – JazzJam – will be taking place in the foyer of the university library to offer a jazz accompaniment to the students’ work. The music will also be produced by young local artists: three Bozen - Bolzano musicians, Matteo Cuzzolin, Marco Stagni and Andrea Polato, have after several months in Berlin developed their project “Fatish”. They are touring at home and abroad and also playing on the big stages at the Jazzfestival 2011, including in the Waltherplatz. JazzJam on Wednesday, 21 December: the concert featuring the design presentation begins at 5.30 p.m. in the foyer of the university library (Free University of Bozen - Bolzano, Universitätsplatz 1, first floor) and is open to all those interested.
