#31 - The SJ Streetband

Jazz is leaving concert halls and open-air stages and takes it to the streets. In past years, Südtirol Jazzfestival Alto Adige has repeatedly invited street-marching bands from abroad, while this year, the festival is putting together its „own“ street band. This band, consisting of young musicians from the EUREGIO Jazzwerkstatt, is led by the Tyrolean vibraphonist Matthias Legner, who as a member of the quartet HI5 has actually specialized in "Minimal Jazz Chamber Music". Legner is also the composer of the pieces, which are going to be played in San Candido's pedestrian zone and in the old town of Brunico. The SJ Streetband itself is an "open" music lab, that you can enjoy during its musical experiments.
