#30 Branco/Melo Alves

An improvised dialogue at the Museion: two top musicians of the young Portuguese scene come together at the Haim Steinbach exhibition. Critics describe the drummer Pedro Melo Alves, born in 1991 in Porto, as the "prodigy" of Portuguese jazz. Lisbon-born Pedro Branco plays exciting chamber music with bassist João Hasselberg. What connects both musicians? Curiosity, the courage to take risks - and the search for spaces in which anything is possible.
