A Helsinki-based miniature orchestra playing chamber music of a very special kind: The Swedish-Finnish trio Elifantree turns contemporary jazz, breakneck sound experiments, free improvisations, melodic pop and punk influences into an idiosyncratic, danceable and surprising sound, which critics have described as acoustic jazz pop – even if this description is only approximate to the music of Elifantree. Pauli Lyytinen, Olavi Louhivuori and the singer Anni Elif Egecioglu, who sound like a combination of Joni Mitchell and Janis Joplin, form one of the most exciting bands in the Northern European scene. The trio has already released three albums and in March 2018 they presented their latest CD "Anemone".
