#38 - Megalodon Collective

The members of this septet from Norway and Sweden took part in the University of Science and Technology's jazz program before joining forces to form a band with two drums and three saxophones. In 2015 this Norwegian and Swedish jazz orchestra presented its debut album "Megalodon" and the seven musicians got so much steam on this debut CD, that the album was promptly nominated as best jazz recording for the prestigious "Spellemansprisen" music prize. In addition to combined improvisations, Megalodon Collective links free jazz, fusion, film music, noise, classical and medieval music. In 2017, the collective recorded its second album "Animals".
