#20 - Natalie Sandtorv

In past years, the 30-year-old Norwegian singer and songwriter Natalie Sandtorv has been active on many worksites. After a duo album with noise-guitarist Torgeir Standal, a solo CD commissioned by Festival Moldejazz, and several CD productions with bands such as "Morning Has occurred" and "Not On The Guest List", she assembled this quintet in 2017 to record her album "Freedom Nation", which she will present in South Tyrol. On this record she draws on the proven combination of noise, electronics, rock, jazz and free improvisation from earlier recordings. In addition, there are committed song lyrics such as "Borders", "Freedom Nation" or "We Are Not Free", which critically deal with contemporary Western society.
