#50 - Stina Koistinen - Sigurdur Rögnvaldsson

Two musical crossers certainly not playing smooth jazz come together: Finnish singer Stina Koistinen, moving between her home country's ethnic music, avant-garde pop and cabaret songs by Bertolt Brecht and Kurt Weil, performs with Icelandic guitarist Sigurdur Rögnvaldsson, who combines roaring baritone guitar riffs and electronically generated sounds. Together with Pauli Lyytinen (sax) and David Meier (dr), Rögnvaldsson forms the rock-jazz trio "Equally Stupid", combining improvised music and rebellious rock patterns. And this could be a role model for the repertoire of this duo, which was ad hoc created for the Südtirol Jazzfestival Alto Adige.
