Since 2011, one cannot think of the Austrian musical scene without thinking of The Little Band From Gingerland. Their debut album, ‘Time out Time’ in 2012 obtained the Ö1 Pasticcio-Preis prize and the creative duo, Ángela Tröndle and Sophie Abraham, was praised for its “original mishmash of international funk, avant-garde pop and poetry”. Their newest album, ‘Sir Prise’, easily continues the leitmotif, i.e. to overcome the limitations set by a specific genre, offering moments of sheer, surprising delight. “From generously bizarre lyrics to a somersault of clarinet solos, swiftly followed by gloomy cello accompaniments, a dash of electro music, or all of these elements rush together in an unruly round dance”, enthused the Wiener Zeitung - sounds promising, doesn’t it?
